Product information "Glendronach 8 Year Old Hielan 46% vol. 0,7l"
Glendronach's 8-year-old Hielan (Gaelic - dialect in northeast Scotland - translated: Highland / Highland) matured in exBourbon and exSherry casks.
Bottled without cold filtration and without dyes, this bottling shows all the characteristics of a real Highland Single Malt Whiskey.

Aroma: elegant aromas of orange blossom and lemon, thick, golden sultanas and sun-dried raisins - then ripe, yellow plums - light vanilla floats above everything
Taste: fresh and strong oak notes - again the sultanas, with apricot jam and ginger bread - elegantly rounded off with notes of butterscotch, cocoa and roasted almonds
Finish: now clearly sherry - ripe fruit and some oak

3 1/2 stars - I'm a fan of this distillery - unusual for Glendronach in that its a mix of bourbon sherry casks. less of the sherry punch, but still a tastey dram - good quality for a reasonable price
