Pur genießbar, für zwischendurch mal, wenig Komplex, ich mag ihn trotzdem

Schon der Balantines Finest ist ein recht milder und raucharmer Blended-Whisky. Er ist zwar recht einseitig, es fehlt ihm an Komplexität und Aroma, dafür ist er aber recht süffig und auch pur genießbar.
Beim Balantines 12 Jahre hatte ich einen deutlichen geschmacklichen Aufstieg erwartet, immerhin ist der Preis fast doppelt so hoch. Doch auch hier fehlt es an Komplexität und Aroma. Dafür ist die Alkoholnote ähnlich ausgeprägt, er brennt sogar noch etwas stärker. Und er ist auch etwas rauchig, Alles in allem konnte er mich nicht überzeugen. Dann doch eher einen günstigen Single-Malt aus der Speyside.

süßlich floral im mix mit etwas holz/eiche, weich mit eher kurzem abgang, der versucht ein paar eichen-rauch-noten mitzugeben. für einen blend i.o. und für jene gelegenheiten, an denen es mal nicht komplex sein soll. salopp gesagt "zum runterspülen" ;)
