For a full 18 years, this extraordinary single malt whisky from Scottish highland distillery Ben Nevis matured in a refilled former sherry butt, then Douglas Laing filled the barrel to 290 bottles in the Old Particular series.

Nose: dark fruits, raisins and strawberries with green pepper - aromas of orange sweets behind it
Taste: full in the taste, clearly glazed apples and soft honey, joined by notes of ripe blueberries and ripe red currants
Finish: long on the finish - spicy oak and roasted barley with ginger and nutmeg.
