Tomintoul releases new, strictly limited edition for sherry fans

Angus Dundee Distillers, owner of the Scottish Tomintoul distillery, proudly announces the global launch of the new limited edition single malt edition, Tomintoul Seiridh.

Tomintoul Seiridh (pronounced “sheh-ree”) is Gaelic and means sherry. This perfectly balanced single malt was first matured in bourbon casks from Kentucky, USA, before the whiskey was given a finish in specially selected First Fill Oloroso sherry casks from a bodega in Andalusia, Spain. This process of refinement created a wonderfully full-bodied and aromatic single malt. The first batch of the limited edition Tomintoul Seiridh resulted in 6,000 bottles, all individually numbered.

Master Distiller Robert Fleming, who has been responsible for the destiny of the distillery for 30 years:

“The personally selected Oloroso sherry casks, which have brought our wonderful Tomintoul single malt to perfection, come from a time-honored, family-run bodega from Jerez, Andalusia. Tomintoul Seiridh is pleasantly soft and captivates with the aromas of Christmas cakes and spices. ”

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Full and inviting with aromas of sultanas, butterscotch and candied pecans.
Palate: sweet and lush with notes of dried figs and Christmas cake, underlined with a hint of spicy cedarwood.
Aftertaste: Warm, nutty and long with notes of chocolate raisins, dried fruit and a hint of licorice, which merge into a woody aftertaste.

About Tomintoul Whiskey:

The Tomintoul distillery, named after the village of Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands and located in the famous Glenlivet Estate, was opened in 1965. The distillery for soft and smooth single malts - "the gentle dram" - is run by the independent Scottish company Angus Dundee Distillers. This style is shaped by the natural ecosystem, the altitude and the clean air of the Cairngorms National Park and the use of the excellent water from the Ballantruan
