On the occasion of the 70th anniversary, Douglas Laing presents in the XOP Platinum series this 25-year-old single-barrel bottling from the Scottish Islay distillery Ardbeg. Distilled in October 1992, the single malt whiskey matured for over 25 years in a refill hogshead, then in February 2018 the cask was reduced to only 251 bottles with an alcohol content of 50.5% vol. bottled.
Aroma: Campfire smoke and ash, with smoked ham and moist soil Taste: smoked meat and coal - then salted seaweed and ground pepper - above all sweet notes of old leather Finish: long finish - heavy peat notes, seaweed and hints of lime and vanilla
