Unusually old for a single grain whiskey! For 27 long years, Douglas Laing ripened this single grain whiskey from the Strathclyde distillery in a refill barrel before bottling the barrel in June 2015 at only 198 bottles.
Aroma: Oily, with an elegant bourbon sweetness - syrup and boiled sugar, some ginger and an exotic, spicy mix
Taste: mouth-filling - sweet with pronounced cereal notes, followed by butterscotch and again the spicy notes
Finish: still sweet and spicy with a very nice hint of vanilla, with toffee
