Barbancourt is the oldest company in Haiti, the recipe for the rum has hardly changed in the more than 150-year history of the distillery.
The rum is distilled twice from 100% fresh sugarcane juice and matured in Limousin oak barrels.

The 15-year-old rum has a powerful body, from the beginning a rich variety of flavors - especially cooked fruits such as pears and lemons, cinnamon and pepper
The finish is very long, the citrus fruits and the spicy notes come back again

Große Enttäuschung

Ich mag den Five Stars (8y) sehr. Daher wollte ich unbedingt den großen Bruder probieren, der als noch intensiver und nachhaltiger gilt. Der Preetzer Table of Rum schreibt dazu "Blumige Note, rund und weich. Wenig Süße aber sehr ausgewogen..."
Davon kann ich leider überhaupt nichts merken. Das erste was einem auffällt ist die extreme Schärfe, die eher an billigen Supermarktsprit erinnert als an einen 15 Jahre gereiften Premium Rum.
Leider kommt danach auch an Aromen nicht allzuviel rüber. Von intensiv und nachhaltig kann man jedenfalls nichts ausmachen.
Große Enttäuschung und sehr schade.

P.S.: Vielleicht war es ein Fehlprodukt.
