The independent bottler was founded in 1994 by Mark Reynier (CEO of Waterford and Renegade), Simon Coughlin and Gordon Wright (Springbank Distillery).

The North British 13 year old received a finish in casks that were pre-stocked with the Hungarian-Slovakian sweet wine Tokaj.
