What a bunnahabhain! For over 36 years, this single malt whiskey first matured in an exBourbon barrel, then Murray McDavid ripened it in a former Austrian Willy Opitz wine barrel - the result is an incredibly complex single malt.
Aroma: fresh cut oak and molasses reminiscent of rum, with walnuts and subtle hints of smoke in the background
Taste: Cigar smoke and salty nougat - behind it dark chocolate and black cherries
Finish: very long finish, again the cigar, the chocolate and the cherries
