Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.
Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.
For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.

This year's bottling matured for almost 23 years in first-fill Oloroso sherry barrels.
The second ripening took place in this exceptional malt in French Lafleur's Premium Troncais barrels.
This wine gave it its intense red color and an almost stunning complexity with wonderful floral notes.
