Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.
Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.
For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.
This vintage bottling in barrel strength matured for 11 years in barrels of American white oak.
The malt has a strong amber tone and a wonderful taste of sweet, dark dried fruits and raisins.
