Aroma: a lot of smoke - like a wood fire on a beach, soapy, flavors of mineral oil and wax - then burned grilled meat
Taste: first sweet, then seafood and sea salt, seaweed and damp leather
Finish: very long finish with lots of smoke, warming

Erstaunliche Karamellsüße, mit Zimt, dunkle Schokolade, würziger Eiche und Lagerfeuerrauch

Eichenholz, Torf, Seetang, leicht ölig. Tief und rund, kräftiger Torf mit Eichennoten und einer Spur von Seetang. Rund mit kräftigen Noten von Holz und Torf. Dieser Single Malt hat würzige Seearomen und rauchige Trockenheit. Darunter liegt ein pfeffriger, reifer Islay Charakter. Er schmeckt sehr ölig und reif. Für mich ist und bleibt dieser 18er Caol Ila einfach ein Spitzenwhisky. Preislich in Ordnung.

Ein ganz spezieller Malt!! Sehr eigen und komplex.
Aroma: erstaunlich wenig Rauch, dafür maritim (Salz, Fisch, Meer, Seetang), bisschen Holz, Ingwer
Geschmack: Die Aromen wiederholen sich, sind aber total vielschichtig und komplex miteinander verstrickt. Immernoch nicht viel Rauch, sonder eher maritim und Ingwer, feines Holz im Hintergrund
Abgang: lang und salzig, mit Holz und nun auch ein bisschen mehr Rauch.
