The Scottish Speyside distillery Craigellachie is famed for its creamy-soft single malts - as well as this filling with a hugely soft note - added to this is the fact that independent bottler Berry Bros. & Rudd was able to ripen the single malt whisky in a former Sauternes wine barrel - this gave the malt whisky an elegantly fruity-sweet note.
Nose: ripe apples, pears and rose water - then overripe honeydew melon and some maple syrup Taste: clearly fudge, then again the ripe apples, with freshly cut grass Finish: on the finish pleasantly sweet with notes of brown cane sugar, again the freshly cut grass
