Balvenie, built in 1892/93, is now owned by the fifth generation of the Grant family, who also own the neighboring distillery Glenfiddich.
W. & J. Grant are not related to the grants of the Glenfarclas distillery.
Balvenie is an outstanding representative of the Speyside region. The malt produced here is wonderfully soft, the malt flavor displaces the Torfton without losing strength or even too sweet.
The Port Wood was initially stored in American White Oak bourbon barrels, then in Port Port Portuguese barrels.
The second storage gives this malt in addition to the honey tones also warm, fruity notes and a long finish.
