The Craggan Distillery has to wait ...

Production should actually start this year in Gordon & MacPhail's new Craggan Distillery in Grantown. Well, these plans were pretty ambitious anyway. Because there is still no Craggan Distillery. And now the start of construction is still delayed.

The planning application for the Craggan Distillery was approved by Gordon & MacPhail only last October. After that, they wanted to start building quickly, and production had already been announced for the end of 2020.

First, a dispute over the building land prevented construction from starting last winter. That could be solved. But now the corona crisis is thwarting the independent bottler and distillery owner Gordon & MacPhail. Health comes first, even on the construction site. The start of construction will be delayed further.

In the background, however, work continues on the technical aspects. When the time finally comes, the Craggan Distillery will initially produce 375,000 liters of spirit per year. In full operation, an output of up to 3 million liters would be possible later. And the visitor center of the distillery should be able to visit 50,000 guests a year.

We keep our fingers crossed that it can start soon!
