Product information "Hazelburn 13 Year Old Oloroso Cask Matured 47.4% vol. 0,7l"
For 13 years, this limited edition matured in fresh and refilled, former Oloroso sherry casks.
Distilled in October 2004, bottled in April 2018 at 9,000 bottles.

Aroma: full body, very creamy with aromas of dark chocolate and rose petals, with ginger biscuits and freshly brewed espresso
Taste: at the beginning fresh sapphires and strawberries, then clearly the Oloroso sherry, Turkish honey, Clooted Cream and strawberry jam, behind marzipan and walnut
Finish: brown cane sugar, dates and toffee - notes of coffee cream, red apple peel and banana chips - above all vanilla and black pepper

Dies war mein erster Springbank ohne Rauch aber trotzdem schmeckt man den Charakter der Brennerei.
Sherry ist hier Programm und ist ohne den rauch deutlicher zu schmecken als mit.
Gute Trinkstärke bei 47,4% aber etwas Wasser führt bei dieser Oloroso Reifung nicht zu einer Verwässerung, sondern zu weiteren dunklen Fruchtnoten, obwohl er erst 13 Jahre auf dem Buckel hat.
Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Eine wunderbarer Hazelburn bei dem der erstklassige Spirit nicht gänzlich im spanischen Süßweinfaß ertränkt wurde. Hier stehen der Spirit und das Sherry Treatment gleichberechtigt nebeneinander und ergeben einen wunderbar ausballancierten Whisky. Zudem wurden erstklassige Sherryfässer verwendet, so dass dieser Whisky keinerlei Schwefelnoten aufweist. Gefällt mir außerordentlich gut, so dass ich dirket noch eine Flasche nachgekauft habe.
