Tomatin presents five limited bottlings dedicated to the five virtues of wood, fire, earth, metal and water.
The second bottling presents the element of fire.
Tomatin shows how closely these elements are linked to the production of whiskey: water feeds wood - wood keeps fire upright - fire brings life to the earth - earth produces metal - metal collects water, so the circle closes.
This bottling matured in heavily charred oak barrels.
Aroma: grilled bananas with sugar, then burnt orange peel and caramel
Taste: sweet notes of creamy vanilla and cinnamon - citrus fruits follow
Departure: surprisingly dry on the finish with an elegant spiciness
