Murray McDavid
Murray McDavid was founded in 1997, specializing in the bottling of a wide range of single malts in short runs.
The bottlings are without exception of a captivating quality, which is not least due to the fact that Murray McDavid such greats as Jim McEwan (Master Distiller Bruichladdich), Mark Reynier, Simon Coughlin and Gordon Wright (a member of the Springbank clan) together to have!
Awarded several times by various whiskey industry institutions, Murray McDavid stands for exclusivity and the highest quality.
Murray McDavid offers his whiskeys exclusively without dyes and without cold filtration.
The malts are in ideal drinking strength with 46% vol. bottled (only exceptions are bottlings in barrel size).
For the mission series, barrels are selected from distilleries that, on the one hand, are older than Murray McDavid's "usual" bottlings and, on the other hand, meet or even exceed quality standards.
Linlithgow (St. Magdalene) 1975
The distillery St. Magdalene is located in the town of Linlithgow, the independent bottlers often use the place name for this soft, for a Lowland but quite strong Malt.
Also atypical of a Lowland is the fact that St. Magdalene burned her malt only twice and not three times.
The malt has a fairly high peat content.
St. Magdalene was closed in 1983 and converted into apartments.
Linlithgow was once the seat of the Scottish kings.
An absolute exception whiskey!
The fourth edition of the mission series includes six bottlings of various distilleries.
You will find in our shop all six!
