Anniversary bottling for the 100th anniversary of Gordon & MacPhail in 1995.
A delicious digestive malt with light sherry notes and slightly smoky.
Benrinnes was founded in Speyside in 1834 under the name "Lyne of Ruthrie Distillery" - four years later, in 1838 the name "Benrinnes" was introduced.
Dewar's took over in 1922 the distillery and so Benrinnes came via DCL to the current owner UDV. (United Distillers and Vintners).
The Malt forms the basis for the blends of AA Crawford, who until 1992 were also licensees of Benrinnes.
Benrinnes produces a medium and very balanced malt, which may be related to the distillation method, which, like Springbank's, provides for a 2.5-fold distillation.
